1971 911T

1971 Porsche 911T Luft Admission Statement: This 1971 911T has its original 2.2L engine and spent more than 35+ years on the race track in Colorado. It still has its genuine roll bar in back but the roll cage up front was removed years ago. The original side mirror is gone and 2 repro Raydyot mirrors were installed for racing purposes I’ve been told. Jerry Shouten bought the car in 1989 from Dan Heffron. Jerry was a PCA member and avid club sport racer in the Rocky Mountain region. Jerry raced the car for four years and later sold it in 1992. His dedication and passion for racing helped to bring about the creation of the High Plains Raceway in Colorado. Years later, in 2013, while driving on the racetrack he helped to build, Jerry crashed into a wall and the car burst into flames. He later died from his wounds. The car remained in Colorado until 2007 when it came to California. I purchased the car recently from Doug Bender, a former director of the Alfa Romeo Club in southern California, who was selling his collection of vintage race cars because, as he said, “I can’t drive it like it's meant to be driven anymore.” The car has been worked on by Richard Humphrey in San Clemente and by Clay at Scott’s Independent by Clay of Anaheim. Thanks for the consideration, Tom Arntson
