1969 912

This is a 1969 912 tub that was built into an IMSA GTO race car in 1977 by Bob Gregg and then raced extensively by John Cullen and Rob Coupland in IMSA from 1978-1985. This was a privateer effort that pinched pennies to be at as many races as possible including several 24hours of Daytona outings where it didn't win but it did finish. Including its "period ugly" APR body work, this car represents a wonderful time in motorsport history when two buddies could still buy an old car, build it, develop it with parts from Porsche Motorsport and go racing with the big boys. Kind of an "unsung hero" story that isn't often told. I've included historic photos but please know that the car is fully restored and often raced in vintage events such as, The Rolex Motorsports Reunion, Velocity Invitational and Daytona Classic 24 (where it finally won!). Lots of great photos and paperwork can be displayed with the car, including hand written notes from one owner trying to convince the other to pay for the car to upgraded to 935 spec. It's a funny and historic document. I think your folks would love this car and it's history.
