1970 911T RSR Tribute

“The FREAK” Found as a solid but unfinished project in 2015, Drew and Michael bought the car together which had come out of the factory as a 1970 911T. Bodywork and some interior was done including glass hood, chin spoiler, front fenders, duck tail, steel rear fenders and the RSR tail lights. The original numbers matching engine and transaxle were in the car and running. It was a sheep in wolf’s clothing. A 1980’s Carrera engine was sourced and has since been machined to 3.4L. ARP rod bolts, nuts, head and case studs. 98mm pistons. 10.5:1 compression ratio. Doughtery racing cams. RSR Lightweight flywheel and sport clutch. MSD digital ignition system. 46mm Weber carbs. SSI heat exchanger. M&K sport exhaust. Mobile Works West magic. 5 speed 915 transaxle, four wheel disc brakes sourced off a 968/944S2 as well as upgraded sway bars and Bilsteins. The interior‘s genuine Scheel sport seats were opened up and custom modified to be 1.5” wider than stock and then recovered with leather that matches the frunk lining. The wheels are real Weidman wheels commissioned, built and installed by the man himself in the summer 2018 after 2 years in production. RSR finish on 15x9’s and 15x11’s. Harvey himself took one look at the car with the wheels and exclaimed, “now this car is one of the cool kids”. The color is a light gray paint underneath and the car was recently vinyl wrapped in the current slate gray w/ black stripe, candy apple red pin-striping and Porsche sill graphics. The FREAK is shared between its two owners, driven all the time and tracked a couple times a year at Thunderhill and Laguna Seca.
